New Sailor Moon screencap redraw! I love An and Eiru! ;▽;
This is a scene from ep 55 - Eiru trying to calm An down after she finds him with Makoto in the park!

Limited Color Palette manga coloring! This was a fun challenge, though difficult at times! =]

Supreme Thunder! I don’t draw Makoto enough. I wanted to try my hand at a more playful cartoony style, and I’m really happy with how it came out! I’ve sketched out other poses for the other girls already so I hope to share those when they’re finished in the future =]
Pose referenced from Senshistock on deviantart.
Not all mermaids bewitch, son. Sometimes the sailors just jump in of their own accord.
(This has been sitting around as a WIP for a while so I finally finished it! I want to draw lots of blue-toned pictures of these two. Eventually.)
Thinking of changing my tumblr name. For some reason, I’ve been feeling odd about naming myself after a senshi lately. Would rather have a more personalized name. But then, I’ve had this name for over a year and a half, so maybe I should just stick with it?
When I picked today’s Goggles theme of BATTLE, I probably should’ve known better. I really probably should have.
Come look under the cut for the myriad of ways that you assholes tried to kill me.
So many dead Rei’s. So many.
This was such a fun day on goggles. Seeing everyone’s art, some devastating, some heart-breaking, with a couple of really cool and cute things thrown in, was so great. I love our little goggles community!
Here were my two contributions for today. I still need to get a better handle on doing pictures with goggles
Jupiter I started scribbling last night and finished right now~
Not a phraseless attack, but one outside the stock footage, so definitely worth some love.
I like several things about this.
First is that Ami’s keeping the same body motions she goes through in the stock footage. I think this is what Ami’s opponents actually see when she does this attack, which is supported by the moments in Episode 80 where Ami keeps almost starting her attack and the others recognize it.
I like that again Ami has to take a second to “charge up”. That Ami has to gather her strength before launching an attack is a nice way to demonstrate the Senshi’s relative power levels (versus Rei and Mako especially who give the impression that they’re trying to control something rather than manifest it).
And I really, REALLY like that Ami still has her visor on. It’s a tiny thing, an obvious thing, but so often what we see the Senshi do is so compartmentalized, and it’s exciting to have Ami at her smart Amiest unleashing Shine Aqua Illusion hell while keeping them on.
I’m sure she must’ve observed everyone’s attacks through her visor before now, herself included, to see what information she could glean about them. But I have to think that for someone as scientific as Ami that she’d just always get the tiniest little thrill about using science to observe magic.
So loving this show of Ami’s different way of attacking compared to the others. A lot of the time it feels like the girls get all put together in a group of just the senshi-who-are-not-Sailor-Moon. But it’s moments like this that clearly show each girl is an individual badass in her very own way, and that is so spectacular.
It strikes me that I can’t recall Minako having many moments like this though, which is sad as Minako deserves it (though I am admittedly biased because I love her so much) But I guess I’ll have to take some comfort in all the ways she has shown her own versatility with her Love-Me chain throughout the series.
The scene ends with this, and I’m kind of loving it.
While Mako’s directly attacking the ship and Usagi’s trying to reach Chibi-Usa, the rest of the Senshi fade into the background. I’m going to guess that Ami, at this stage, and run over to Mamoru (who we last saw getting the shit knocked out of him). Mako I don’t doubt has gone to Usagi, who’s pulling herself together, but I suspect is going to have herself a good ol’ cry here in a second when she has the others’ strength to support her.
But we haven’t seen Rei and Minako since Chibi-Usa was carried into the ship. So what have they been doing?
They knew and accepted long before the others that they couldn’t get to Chibi-Usa. She was lost to them the second that door closed. Minako would’ve figured that out first, and I see her going to Rei, who doesn’t want to admit that there’s nothing she can do, but knows it’s true. They need a new plan, and it won’t do Chibi-Usa or Usagi any good for her to pissed at the failure of the old one.
They wouldn’t need to talk. Minako merely raises an eyebrow at Rei. Got any ideas? Rei frowns, thinking, then spies this kid, still here and watching the ship take off. Rei glares. and Minako follows her gaze. Immediately, she’s thinking the same thing: information.
So they watch him, watch how he’s reacting, and determine he’s likely no direct threat. No need to use force, then. Minako lets her Love-Me Chain vanish and Rei follows by dissipating her Flame Sniper. But the second he moves, they’re there, together.
I really love this shot:
I love how in sync they move here. This isn’t the sort of thing you intentionally choreograph. Nobody rehearses this. This is just Minako and Rei KNOWING what the other will do and filling in the missing piece.
I put it in tags in an earlier post, but I really just cannot get away from these two as perfect battle partners. And man, I would not EVER want to be the enemy having to face them.
Sometimes it’s great when I rewatch things I’ve already liveblogged because when I have an upswell of feelings, it’s possible I’ve already said everything I wanted to say, so I can just reblog it and pretty much point at myself and say “THIS”
